SODEN conducted two days’ workshop of understanding CRPD supported by Abilis foundation Finland.

Somali Disability Empowerment Network (SODEN) has organized two days fruitfully kick off workshop held in Hotel Afrik Mogadishu-Somalia the purpose was to promote rights of Somali disability awareness and understanding of UN-convention on rights of persons with disability (UN-CRPD) which SODEN translated into Somali language in order to comprehend entire participants deeply by the convention.  

The world moves closer to being polio-free.

The World Health Organization welcomed a “historic step” toward a polio-free world on Thursday as an expert panel certified that the second of three types of the crippling virus has been eradicated globally. The announcement by the Global Commission for the Certification of Poliomyelitis Eradication says the type 3 poliovirus was wiped out this week.

SODEN has organized a meeting between Banaadir Regional Administration (BRA) Mr. Omar Filish and Somali disabled people representatives dated 18th September 2019, in the office of the Mayor.

The meeting has participated in disabled people organizations (DPOs) and other non-disability representatives from different civil society organizations.
