MOGADISHU: Somali Disability Empowerment Network (SODEN) has strongly condemns the arresting by Somali security forces to detain visual impaired radio Journalist.

Abdifatah Kalga,al who is a well-known visual impaired radio journalist in Mogadishu was arrested on Tuesday from his house in Wadajir district.

According to security forces he was arrested as a suspect after the killing of government soldier who is his neighbor at Mogadishu, Wadajir district home.

Abdulfatah works for local station radio, Gobjog radio station as a reporter and is currently held at criminal investigation headquarters in Mogadishu for the second day.

SODEN Chairman Mohamed Ali Farah has called for the immediate release of the journalist.
“It is its untakebale to be in Jail Mr. Abdifatah Kalga,al and i am requesting the security officers to release and get his freedom its zero tolerance to be in Jail This visual impairment Journalist,” he said.

“Abdulfatah is innocent and he can not tolerate such this jail for the sake of his Disability in Somalia there is no a Disability rights and should be released from detention immediately,” he added. Mr. Mohamed Ali Farah Chair Man of Somalia Disability Empowerment Network (SODEN).
